What do you do when life hands you lemons? You make lavender lemonade!
I had lavender on the brain after getting my new Club Scrap® Lavender Fields kit. Purple is one of my favorite colors…I even painted my bedroom lavender when I was in high school! I love perusing Pinterest for artwork ideas and I found this lavender lemonade photo as inspiration for my card.
The JFF Rubber Stamps monthly challenge for May is to use more than one stamp, so I dug through my stash of JFF stamps to find these versatile little gems! (Check the supplies list at the end of this post for direct links to products.)
I stamped the canning jar in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The peppermint “straw” is colored with Milled Lavender Distress Ink as well as the inside of the jar. I used Prismacolor colored pencils to color and shade the citrus slices and blended with gamsol and a paper stump. The straw and lemon slices were fussy cut and adhered to appear as if they are inside the jar. I framed the card with Concord Grape Distress ink and I added some ink splatters with it too for interest.

I like creating my own quotes for my projects and will either create them in Photoshop Elements and print them, or I will stamp them using one of my favorite font stamps.

This script set takes a little practice, but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You can always touch up with a matching ink pen if needed! *wink*
While getting “pinspired”, I found the following recipe for Lavender Lemonade. It sounds so summery and refreshing! I’m definitely going to make this to sip on while relaxing by the pool.
If you’re feeling creative, dig through your stamp stash and make something to share with us on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog. You don’t have to use a JFF Stamp to be considered for the gift certificate, but if you DO use a JFF Stamp you will receive a second entry into the drawing doubling your chance to win. Thank you! Oh I’m so jealous…lavender in the garden. I wonder if it would grow well in Louisiana? Is it pretty hardy?
